BO2K info page
BO2K or Back Orifice 2000 is a trojan horse. That’s a program that masquerades as being harmless. Trojan horses are not technically viruses, but they can be equally destructive. Probably the worst kind is a program that says it has cleaned your computer of viruses but infects your computer with one.
BO2K is the latest in a line of Trojans. The program’s makers—the Cult of the Dead Cow – claim that it is a legitimate tool in that it can be used for good administrative tasks as well as bad intentions. The problem is that the cDc has little credibility in the programming world and have earned no trust among the mainstream code development community.
