LabRats #006: Creating your own home network
We’ve come a long way, baby. We no longer talk one to another in the office, not even on the phone, we exchange e-mails, instead.
Now, it’s the home’s turn. If we can have computer networks at work, why not at home, right?
Whatever the reason you feel you simply MUST have a computer network at home, sleep easy: it’s not too difficult to put together.
All you need is at least a couple of computers (if you need more, get yourself more), equipped with an Ethernet card each, but that now comes as default, an Internet connection, high-speed preferred, and a router, to which you will connect the computers on one side, and the Internet on the other. To set up the software is a matter of minutes, and, you’re off to the races.
