Windows 95 reports a Pentium Pro

The Pentium II processor reports the same processor family number as the Pentium Pro (CPU family #6).

The Pentium II was released after Windows 95, so it doesn’t know the CPU model number and identifies it as a Pentium Pro.

This doesn’t hurt your computer’s operation. Software that uses MMX technology or a Pentium II processor will use your processor correctly.
